The Langkawi International Airport at Padang Matsirat is about 20 km from Kuah and 10 km from Tengah Beach. Direct air services from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Bangkok and Singapore are provided by Malaysia Airlines, Silk Air and budget arlines AirAsia and community airlines Firefly.  Several charter flights are served direct routes from Moscow, Milan, Hong Kong, Prague, etc.

The Jetty Point at Kuah is about 27 km from Tengah Beach. It is the access point for/from Penang, Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis of Malaysia and Satun of Thailand. Ferry to/from Ko Lipe, Thailand departs/arrives at Telaga Harbour .

Malaysian Railway or KTMB provides comfortable and economical rail services from Kuala Lumpur (KL Sentral) to Alor Star and Arau. From Alor Star, you can take a taxi or bus to Kuala Kedah, while from Arau, you can take taxi to Kuala Perlis. Then proceed to Langkawi by boat.
