Located on the northernmost tip of Langkawi, this wide sloping beach is fringed by casuarina trees from which Tanjung Rhu gets its name. Tanjung means cape while Rhu is casuarina. During low tide, it is possible to walk across a sandy strecth to the rocky outcrop of Pulau Chabang (Chabang Island). Extra caution is needed if one want to walk through as the tide comes very fast and so it is wiser if you are an avid swimmer when you decide you want to this. Nearby are few caves as well as mangrove swamps gazetted as geopark heritage areas.
